Description

This is a 2-day Button-Up Leather Tufting Workshop in Castle Rock, CO September 8 & 9, 2024

In this hands-on leather tufting upholstery workshop, you will learn specialty skills that will take your upholstery education to the next level.  You will complete three 16” x 16” tufted leather sample boards using a variety of traditional methods and techniques. The finished boards can be used as examples to show your clients, you can hang them on the wall, or you can add feet and turn them into a footstool.

In this 2-day class, you will complete the following sample boards:

1. Deep button tufting with a Vandyke join.

2. Biscuit tufting

3. Upholstered board with buttons and nails added.

The skills learned in this class can be used for upholstery projects like chairs, sofas, settees, ottomans, footstools, banquets, and headboards.

Students are responsible for their own travel, hotel, and meals.

Students will need to bring a leather hide and any specialty supplies like nail heads.  The instructor will help you to order the correct hide for the class projects.  The base sample boards and general upholstery supplies are provided.

The two-day workshop is $695 per student. A 50% deposit holds your spot. The remaining balance is due 60 days before the start of the workshop. The workshop is limited to 4 students for individual attention. We will be in class from 9-5. Students will have a 1-hour lunch break.

You will be using industrial machinery and professional tools.  Some experience with upholstery is required to take this class. Once you’ve signed up, I will email you a few details you’ll need to know before you attend the workshop. Feel free to email me questions before signing up for any workshops.
