Hi, I’m Rhonda
There’s much to see here. So, take your time, look around, and learn all there is to know about The Whimsical Chair. I hope you enjoy my site and take a moment to follow me on social media.
I am so fascinated by photography and I have always loved colorful textiles in furniture and clothing. When I was a young girl my grandmother and mother taught me their passion for sewing and creating with beautiful fabrics. That inspiration from my childhood has grown over the years. I received my degree in fashion merchandising. I worked in retail sales and display for many years. Upholstery is my second career and I love this journey. I am inspired by the clients that trust me with their treasures!
My love of sewing and fabrics sparked my interest in upholstery in 2009. I found an upholstery class through our extension office in Wichita Kansas. My first project was a wingback chair and I was hooked. I worked on several pieces for our own home. It was wonderful to be able to restore and refurbish antique and vintage chairs. We moved to Colorado and I continued to learn with upholstery education online. I had friends asking if I would do chairs and settees for their homes. This was the start of The Whimsical Chair.
It is wonderful to help clients give new life to their family heirlooms. I take great pride in restoring a piece of furniture that has a story and is sentimental in your home. Antique and vintage furniture is made to last and is reupholstered. I enjoy the creative process of designing a chair to be the conversation piece in your home. Each chair will be unique and one of a kind. Thank you for trusting me with your treasured pieces. The biggest compliment I get is referrals from past clients.
